Moving-day planning

What happens on moving day

A move works best when the route through both properties, the inventory and the unloading plan are clear before the van arrives.

Before loading

Tell the coordinator about access, stairs, lifts, large furniture and anything that is not moving. Keep keys, documents, medication and valuables with you. If you are packing yourself, label boxes by their destination room to make unloading more useful.

Loading and protection

The published house-removals process includes protecting floors and doorways, blanket-wrapping furniture and loading in an order that supports unloading. Packing materials are included as standard; packing and furniture dismantling are separate services when required.

At the new address

Boxes can be unloaded into the rooms you have labelled them for. If a move involves furniture that needs dismantling and reassembly, flag it when you enquire so the item and time can be included in the plan.
